Winifred Simpson (WS) talks about her time as a WVS member from 1940-1964 in Coventry when she helped at the Police station Tea Bar and made meals for the police officers. Also mentioned is the knitting and sowing work of other volunteers. WS also talks about some of her Post-war experiences as a WVS member such as assisting with a tea party in 1952 and parading with other members to Coventry cathedral. Comments on Councillor Pearl Hyde and a car accident which killed her, why she left WVS in 1964 and her most treasured memories of volunteering.
