Recording Details:
Shelia Lamont (SL) talks about her time as a WRVS volunteer and employee between 1978 and 2010. From 1978-1982 she was involved with Books-on-Wheels (BOW) in Poole as well as Meals-on-Wheels (MOW) 1978-1986. SL also discusses her role in Emergency Services (ES) between 1979 and 2001 which also included helping with Children's Holidays in Dorset and on the Isle of Wight. From 2001-2010 SL moved over to Services Welfare (SW) which included tours of Suffolk, Falkland Islands and Catterick. She concluded with her thoughts on the current organisation Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) and her most memorable moment as a volunteer in WRVS.
